This event will provide an interesting opportunity for cross-disciplinary discussion, and deliver valuable research-based insights into some of the key considerations for early-stage innovators keen to make a real impact in our next mission area.

Dr. Nugun is a Senior Lecturer and co-Lead Circular Economy Research Group at the Teesside University International Business School. Nugun’s research interests encompass two converging themes: climate change adaptation for resilience in smallholder food systems and natural resources governance; and business transition to sustainability.
He currently teaches sustainability in business at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Muhammad Imran Qureshi is a Ph.D. in Operations Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is an enthusiastic academician in operations management and big data analytics. He served as a senior lecturer at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka from 2019 to 2022.
On the research side, his research profile consists of more than 160 research publications in renowned journals with a cumulative impact factor above 100. He has written several impact factor publications with world-renowned publishers like ELSEVIER and SPRINGER in operations management, environmental management, sustainability, and organizational behavior.
Dr. Wendy worked as an academic in Accounting and Finance disciplines in universities of Australia and China. Wendy’s research areas include corporate finance, green finance, corporate R&D & innovation, FinTech, corporate environmental information disclosure, and ESG investment. Wendy’s research has attracted attention by attaining a series of high-quality publications on top academic journals with impact.
Wendy enthusiastically seeks opportunities for industry collaborations to put her research into practice.
Dr. Xihui Chen has been an Assistant Professor of Accountancy at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University since May 2022. She is a visiting professor at the University of Economics in Katowice in Poland. She was a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the Department of Finance, Performance & Marketing, Teesside University International Business School.
She joined Teesside in 2019 after completing her PhD in Corporate Governance and Innovation from Nottingham Trent University. The focus of her research is interdisciplinary, and she is currently exploring the impact of disruptive technologies and digital transformation on corporate governance and management accounting practices.
